*This entry’s page is slightly curled at the edges, the writing uneven and runny at places where it appears tears and/or sake were spilled on it*

I’m writing this while it is still fresh in my mind, before the sake kicks in too much to help me forget the atrocities that took place tonight. Master Motaga, the one that raised Sis for so many years while I was traveling is dead at the hands of the ones known as ‘The Sons of Heaven’. Their group assaulted the village and slayed countless inhabitants. While most of their group died at our hands, we were without a doubt handily defeated.
We didn't even get a chance to leave town to visit Grandfather's resting place before the attack began. They charged on horseback, launching arrows without even bothering to target them and still managing to kill many...too many. They didn't care how many died. We were able to figure out afterward why they came and attacked the monastery.
The Sons of Heaven are gathering twelve relics required for them to get the Orb of Tian Zhe, which I believe can summon an incredibly powerful kami. One that it once took the mighty Gilgamesh to originally defeat. One of the companions that came to our aid, a mountain priest, knew of the other relics and informed us of their rumored locations:

- One is lost in the Imperial Province and was never recovered
- Another was in the Shudon Monastery and has been stolen. One of our new companions, Baoji, was one of the last disciples of that monastery and his master was also killed during the attack it seems.
- One was here in Tenshi Village, which was obviously stolen earlier tonight
- One was lost by a hero in the Shadowlands
- One was sold or gifted to Israfel, which has also been stolen. The priest’s traveling companion, a man named Keisuke who is apparently from there informed us of this fact.
- One was a gift to Hanbei Daijou which, like the owner, has vanished
- One is located in the Crab Clan at Matsudaira Gate
- One is located in the Crane Clan lands in possession of the Sengoku Shi (4 ancient Kami)
- One is located in the Lion Clan lands at the Puzzle Canal
- One is located in the Phoenix Clan lands at the Garden of Heaven. As this is a legendary flying place and we have no easy way to access it, we’ll have to leave it for later.
- One is at the Great Pyramid of Ur in the lands of the Scorpion Clan
- The last is within the lands of the Unicorn Clan at the Footsteps of the Gods

I also recognized the leader of the attack tonight, it was the one known as Matsuo, one of the pair that took Grandfather’s life and almost ended Aiko’s and my own. There was no mistaking his voice and the bloodshed he caused today. We did hear some rumors on him I think worth recording, that he is supposedly a distant relative of Hanbe Daijou and that while he desired to become a blade mystic he was unable to for some reason. Potentially what has lead him down the bloody path he is on.

Someday he will pay for what he has done. Such is my vow, even if it costs me my own life. He has to be stopped before he takes another that is precious to Sis and myself...

Final note: We very nearly lost Kieshkin as well this evening. When the bandits were taking hostages and executing them (heartless bastards), he was among the number. As he was lead forward to Matsuo to be killed he detonated a huge explosive he had hidden under his clothes. Boom!, as Kieshkin himself is so fond of saying. He took out around a half dozen of their number and scorched Matsuo somewhat. We found him after the battle, barely alive. I guess if the Gods were to smile on anyone, it would be Kieshkin.
